Always heard people say ‘go and see Myanmar’ but only now I see why. Great footage, Aric. I like what you said about Gunter “Seeing the Great Wall and Eiffel Tower does not change how you feel, but meeting this man did” or something to this effect.. Ahhh!!! Made me do my bit today too.
Watching video in China is a real challenge the bandwidth is aweful but well worth the wait. Keep it coming mate!
Really enjoying all the exiled Shanghai diaries – it’s lovely to see further into these countries than one normally gets to see. Especially when a lot of the news portrays all the troubles that are going on in Indonesia, Myanmar and, latterly, Thailand.
Just a point, re the ‘beetroot’, isn’t that betel, rather than beetroot? I think in Malaysia people chew betelnut wrapped in those leaves, which makes the red spittle and their teeth go black.

Thank you both.
Magda – Yes. Get there. You like an adventure. You would love it!
Bobbie – Agh! You’re right. Betelnut. Sorry, am sleep deprived, ha ha.
